The Dangers Of Sleeping Pills

August 6th, 2010

Sleeping pills have been known for quite a few years to be an essential part of some people’s lives. Some of us have stressful jobs, families, LIVES! And while we have other ways of dealing with it, to be ready to face certain things, we need to get a good night’s sleep. But of course, with so much stress in our lives, or sometimes for physiological reasons, we simply cannot get the sleep or other results that we want.

But when it comes to sleeping pills, they aren’t necessarily all that they are cracked up to be. Sometimes they work yes. But sometimes they have also been known to cause serious complications, the least of which is feeling tired throughout your day. There has been more than one case of purposeful or accidental overdose. Sleeping pills can cause other side effects, even if you do not abuse them or overdose on them. And ultimately, it can be hard to find something dependable and effective without the risks.

But there are natural sleeping pills that are answering many questions and quelling many worries among the common consumer. Ingredients like melatonin and valerian root may not sound so powerful at first. But they are often deceiving in their appearance, far more powerful than you originally think. Moreover, you will find that these ingredients do not actually have the overdose potential and the same side effects as many of the prescriptions that we have grown so accustomed to. With natural sleeping pills, you can get hope for results you would never find with a prescription.

Are There Permanent Treatments For Sexual Dysfunction?

December 4th, 2009

If you are looking to treat sexual dysfunction, there are several problems.  First of all, most male enhancement products don’t work.  There are ingredients that work, and you will find a few in products like ExtenZe.  But even if they have those, frankly speaking they usually don’t have the right amounts. The reality is that they often couple male enhancement products with benefits for sexual dysfunction, especially in the world of prescriptions, but also in natural treatments.

But one must ask, because realistically speaking, you really don’t want to keep taking any supplement forever if you don’t have to, you have to wonder, are there permanent treatments for sexual dysfunction, or for that matter are there permanent male enhancement drugs?  Are there products in general that will provide more results in the long term?  And are they the popular natural supplements you see around like ExtenZe?  Or are they other products you might not necessarily recognize?

From what I’ve found, generally speaking, you will not find permanent results with these kinds of treatments.   They are only going to provide temporary results at best, and realistically speaking, most of them don’t even provide you with something that good.  And frankly speaking, most of them also cause side effects.  Products like ExtenZe are no exception.

Basically speaking, any product that claims to cure sexual dysfunction or give you by any means permanent results is a scam.  They can provide you results as you take them, and unfortunately, this is just one of those things that we have not yet cracked in terms of cures.  Granted, we don’t necessarily think of it as being as important as finding a cure for cancer for example.  So realistically speaking, it’s not a huge surprise.

But realistically speaking, if you are looking for something that is effective, even if you can’t get permanent results or cure sexual dysfunction in so many ways, you can try a product called Orexis.  Orexis has proven natural ingredients that could actually enhance sexual experience, and they have the clinically proven amounts.  So realistically speaking, you should check this product out rather than wasting your time on products like ExtenZe with all their false claims.

Food For Better Hair

September 24th, 2009

There are a lot of things we know that help contribute to hair loss. But did you know that what you eat can actually contribute to it? That’s right! Not only does bad diets cause all kinds of nasties like weight gain and heart disease, but it could actually promote hair loss too!

You see, your body needs vitamins and nutrients in order to survive and continue to grow. Your hair, for example, is made up of protein, so what happens when you don’t get enough good protein, along with the vitamins and nutrients to nourish your hair? Why, it becomes brittle, and, dare I say, unhealthy! So take care to eat well and exercise – this may actually help with hair loss! Amazing what the body can do!

Brushing Too Hard & Hair Loss

September 24th, 2009

There’s a lot of things that contribute to hair loss, the biggest reasons being genes. It’s really hard to beat hair loss when it’s basically written into your genetic make up. But little things we do every day can actually help our hair to fall out! For example, did you know that the comb you use could irritate your scalp and speed up hair loss?

Turns out that combs with sharp teeth and narrow bristles can actually irritate the skin on your scalp and increase your hair loss frequency. Yikes! The solution? Look for combs with smooth ends and wider spaces between the teeth for combing your hair. This way, you don’t irritate your scalp and cause hair loss to increase (who would ever want that?).

Locks of Love

September 16th, 2009

We often think of hair loss afflicting mostly men. You know, the commercials on TV with a man looking at his bald spot in an aggravated way, and then putting some cream on that makes his head grow hair again. A beautiful woman fawns over it. But sometimes we don’t think about others who might be afflicted with hair loss. For example, children.

Children lose hair for all sorts of reasons – cancer and chemotherapy treatments to thyroid problems. But it’s always embarrassing and not great for the developing self esteem when it happens, especially for girls. That’s why my sister grew out her hair and donated it to the Locks of Love program, which this article talks about. It’s great to know people are willing to give of their hair to help those without. We often don’t think about it, but our society puts a huge premium on good looking hair. But for reasons out of our control, many people suffer from hair loss every day. It’s great to know people are acknowledging the problem and doing what they can to help.

Slowing hair loss

September 15th, 2009

I’m not a huge practitioner of alternative medicine. You know, the doctors that prevent herbs and natural medicines like rosemary or ginko to treat this disease or memory loss. However, here’s one that seems easy enough and may actually work – some people swear by it!

It turns out that massaging several drops of almond oil into your scalp can actually help stop the rate of hair loss! I haven’t tried this myself, but a lot of people swear it to be true. So go ahead and try it out and see if it works or you! If it doesn’t, well, you can always move on and find something that does work, and if it does, for the cost of just a couple almond oil drops a day into your scalp, you can prevent further hair loss! And that seems like a pretty good deal to me.

Stress and hair loss

September 15th, 2009

While on an internship, I noticed that one of my roommates was losing hair at a prodigious rate. He said he wasn’t horribly alarmed, since male pattern baldness ran in his family, but he often blamed it instead on the stress (the internship we all participated in often had us working fourteen hour days and was an incredibly stressful experience).

I often wondered if this is true. Does stress actually cause baldness? Turns out, yes! It is true! The old adage has some kernel of truth to it. This information is enough to cause people to stress out even more (and maybe lose some hair) but remember that stress need not get the best of us! If you have stressful days, try this simple exercise – simply take five deep breaths slowly, in a row, during a stressful time. This floods your brain with oxygen and often helps lower stress levels!

Thyroid Hair Loss

September 1st, 2009

There are various reasons of course for hair loss.  But one of the reasons I’ve found is actually a thyroid disorder.  Thyroid disorders, if you have an overactive thyroid can overwork and overstress the systems whereas with an underactive thyroid, obviously some things are not being delivered quite correctly.  So either way, you could potentially suffer hair loss because of it.  The basic elemental difference is that with an overactive thyroid, you will be hot all the time, have a racing heart, have trouble keeping weight on with sudden weight loss, and otherwise while an underactive thyroid will be just the opposite.

So it’s definitely something to keep in mind.  This can happen both in human and animal sufferers, and frankly it’s one thing to watch out for when an animal suddenly starts losing hair on their tail or something.  It can mean other things such as old age, allergies, etc.  But it can also of course mean a thyroid disorder, which is risky no matter the species.  If you have this problem however, you will of course know because hair loss won’t be your only problem at that point in time.
